About us

London Connected Learning Centre is part of Education Development Trust and we support schools and other settings in using digital technologies creatively and critically. We provide outstanding curriculum support, technical services and professional development.

We aim to embed technology use into all areas of the curriculum based on the principle that every young person deserves the digital skills and critical mindset to prepare them for life. Our curriculum workshops and CPD programmes are effective, engaging and always based on sound pedagogical research. Our technical team offers expert, independent advice with best value in mind.

We help senior leaders make informed choices about IT, support teaching staff to feel confident in using technology and work with school technicians to provide high-quality technical services. We aim to involve the whole school community from governors and business managers to pupils and families to help them understand, use, benefit from and enjoy new technologies.

Measurable impact

The result is a measurable impact on each school we support. We are proud to have an exceptional track record of improving teaching and learning with 99% of teachers reporting that pupil learning outcomes improve following attendance at our curriculum support workshops and CPD sessions. A further 97.8% say that their own teaching practice will improve following attendance at these events. Teachers also say that not only is our CPD beneficial for their practice and students’ learning, it also gets them excited about computing.

You made computing relatable to everyone and the staff have been buzzing as a result of your ideas, tips and expertise.

We’ve been working with London CLC for a couple of years now to develop the curriculum. It’s brilliant. It keeps me up to date with the latest technology and the pedagogy of how to teach these concepts to children

Cultural partnerships

We also offer schools the opportunity to work on special projects with industry and cultural partners such as IBM, Google, BFI, Tate and the Southbank Centre. We are the IBM’s delivery partner for the IBM teacher summer schools (which won an award from the Lord Mayor of London) and the IBM Junior Developer Challenge. Find out more about these projects in the Case Studies section.

Our involvement in research projects helps keep our work up to date and pedagogically robust. We have worked with University College London on its  Scratch Maths project and we’re a partner with Rosendale Research School, one of a network of research schools run by the Education Endowment Foundation. We are also working on Co-Think, a European Union-funded project exploring best practice in teaching computational thinking in an inclusive way. Find out more about our research in the Case Studies section.

Award-winning experts

The London CLC team is made up of teaching consultants and experts in the teaching of computing. We are part of the Department for Education-sponsored Network of Excellence in Computer Science Teaching and have a Computing at School master teacher on our teaching team. We are a recognised Apple Regional Training Centre and our technical team has won the NAACE impact award for its services. We were commended in the Edtech 50 report and in January 2019 & January 2020 we won prestigious Bett awards in recognition of our support and service to schools.
