About Us

Sarah is director of London Connected Learning Centre. She was previously a primary teacher and deputy headteacher and she now works with schools and settings from foundation stage to sixth form providing professional learning for teachers and strategic advice for school senior leadership teams. She recently published a study on the impact of blogging on children’s writing with co-author Myra Barrs, which they presented for the Harold Rosen Memorial Lecture at UCL IOE. Sarah's other areas of interest include digital portfolios, assessment, early years and digital strategy in schools. Sarah can support schools with their computing curriculum planning, assessment, ICT Mark and digital strategy. Sarah is also available for public speaking engagements.

Blossom leads on all aspects of web design, animation and filmmaking for London CLC. Her specialisms include, supporting schools in using blogs, digital art, photography, web design, games design, animation and filmmaking. Blossom’s London CLC film commissions include creating a best practice resource on phonics, a film about the Model United Nations and a film about different faiths’ places of worship. From animation with under 5s, to film master classes for A level students, Blossom can support your school in all aspects of your digital media provision. Blossom designs the CLC’s annual brochure. She runs teacher CPD, pupil sessions and offers consultancy and advice.

Joe Halloran is the CLC’s computing, maths and science lead. His specialisms include computer science from KS 1 to KS4, games design, coding, programming, maths, Google Apps for education and the use of Cloud based assessment systems. Joe is especially interested in computer programming, and recognises its potential to help young people explore maths, logic, and higher order thinking skills. Joe has supported two Education Endowment Fund research projects: one on metacognition and digital portfolios and one on how computer programming can lead to improved attainment in maths. Joe's interest in the conceptual aspects of computer programming were developed whilst studying for his MA in Philosophy at Birkbeck, University of London. Joe’s public speaking engagements for the CLC have included presenting on how computer science can connect with the Arts in education as part of the Centre for Digital, Art, Research & Education (DARE) conference at the RSA and defending the place of programming in the curriculum at the Battle of Ideas at the Barbican. Joe runs professional learning for teachers, pupil workshops, and offers consultancy and advice to school leadership teams.

As London CLC’s deputy director, Julia has responsibility for developing new business. Originally a secondary school music teacher, Julia has worked in both the cultural and education sectors. She has worked in the learning departments of the London Sinfonietta and the Southbank Centre delivering projects for schools and prisons. Julia has a particular interest in the use of social media in an education context and leads on professional learning in this area for schools and other organisations. Julia is an engaging keynote speaker and has presented at several major conferences across London including at Westminster Briefings, events for the Arts Council and A New Direction and sessions for the Royal Opera House and South Bank Cultural Quarter. Julia is an Apple Distinguished Educator. She runs professional learning sessions and offers consultancy and advice in music technology, social media and bid writing.

Kim’s role includes ensuring that the CLC’s school service level agreements are delivered effectively. She is the key contact person for all schools involved in with the centre. In her role as the CLC’s project manager, she takes a lead on partnership projects, for example programmes with IBM, the Royal Shakespeare Company, the British Film Institute and the Southbank Centre. Kim’s background is in drama and theatre and she manages to combine her full- time job with being a theatre director.

Luis Martin has worked as a technician providing technical support to schools and Children's Centres across London for the past 5 years. He has a particular interest in helping schools set up Google Apps For Education and in managing iPads. He loves problem solving and finding technical solutions for schools.

Krzysztof Jurek is London CLC’s system manager. He leads the CLC’s technical team and manages technical service support across a number of London schools. Krzysztof’s specialisms include network design and installation, providing audits of schools’ technical infrastructure and giving advice and consultancy on a variety of digital solutions including Google Apps For Education and other Cloud based services. Krzysztof has a passion for technology and is the CLC’s resident expert on technical innovations. He is also a great photographer and is the CLC’s official photographer in residence.

Peter is the senior IT engineer at the CLC, responsible for schools' IT systems and infrastructure. He also provides consultancy, advice and technical training for schools. Peter is currently helping a number of schools to set up Google Apps for Education, with the technical integration of iPads and other tablets and has been supporting cultural organisations in their digital outreach programmes. Peter has worked in the education IT sector for nearly a decade. After leaving sixth form he went into an IT apprenticeship where he was catapulted straight back into a school. Learning his trade in a large, successful secondary school, he played a major role in transitioning the school's IT from an antiquated split site set-up to a state of the art enterprise level, one- site solution. It was at this point that his passion for transforming educational IT developed. Peter is keen to ensure that schools are offered a bespoke service that supports school leaders to make informed decisions about their IT systems.

Sue is a family learning tutor for London CLC. She works with families across Lambeth and London supporting parents and carers to develop their confidence in using technology and to help their children's learning. Sue is an expert in helping families navigate the complexities of staying safe and connected in a digital world. In addition to leading family learning courses, which run over several weeks, Sue is also available to run E-safety and anti-cyberbullying workshops for parents in schools and other settings.

Suki Coe has a background as an early years practitioner in schools. She has worked in the field of family learning and parental engagement since 2000. Suki manages the CLC’s family learning team, coordinates all the CLC family programmes and leads on safeguarding for the CLC. Suki’s specialisms include e-safety for parents and supporting schools in engaging with families and the wider community. Suki previously worked as a professional photographer.

Marie is a family learning tutor for London CLC and runs video, animation and digital book making courses for parents and children in primary schools and children’s centres. She loves teaching courses that give families the opportunity to work together on creative projects. After studying graphic design at Camberwell College of Art, Marie graduated from the Royal College of Art with an MA in Communication Art and Design. She also has a PGCE in Adult Learning.

Tim works as administrator for London CLC. He does the financial administration, catering and front of house. As the Responsible Person for the CLC, he is in charge of the building and for providing a safe working environment for staff and visitors. Tim has over 20 years administration and finance experience, having worked in the fashion industry, museum and charity sectors. He has a great passion for serving the community in which he lives and is a keep fit fanatic.

Rowan is the CLC’s computing tutor. Rowan joined our team in early 2013, having graduated from an English degree at Balliol College, Oxford. Since then she has worked on activities for pupils and led family learning courses and professional development for teachers. She specialises in primary computing, especially in the areas of games design, programming and computational thinking. As a full time CLC tutor, Rowan leads workshops supporting a variety of curriculum areas including science, design and technology, humanities and maths, as well as the computing curriculum. Her previous experience, as a teacher, tutor and mentor for educational charities and as a drama teacher in Shanghai, sparked her interest in education. Rowan is particularly inspired by the potential of Minecraft and 3D Printing to support a range of learning and has developed the CLC’s work with schools in this area, including setting up school Minecraft Clubs.

Adam is a family learning tutor for London CLC and works with families supporting parents and carers to develop their confidence in using technology and to help their children's learning. Adam's specialisms are photography and film. Following his degree in film studies at Falmouth College of Arts, Adam worked in film production before qualifying in adult education. Harminder Chagger is the most recent addition to London CLC's technical support service. Harminder has worked in the AV industry as a technical engineer for 4 years. Before this, he gained a BSc in Music Technology (Audio Systems) as the result of a long-term obsession with technology. He enjoys finding innovative technical solutions and is keen to use his AV expertise to support schools.
