Digital Music with Sonic Pi
In this workshop pupils develop an understanding of musical composition and computer science, using the free Sonic Pi software to program a piece of music. Sonic Pi allows pupils to explore the key dimensions of music, from pitch and duration to dynamics and tempo, whilst mastering some of the core logical principles of computing.
Having attended this course teachers will...
- Deepen your understanding of Sonic Pi with this step-by-step tutorial
- Try using the Makey Makey to build and program your own instrument with simple circuits
- Experiment with musical composition and transposition in Scratch, like Miles Berry’s version of Ode To Joy
