Book Creator have launched the beta version of Book Creator for Chrome. This version is aimed at teachers to try-out prior to the full release in August .
From the page https://app.bookcreator.com/ you are given the option to sign in through a Google login or an email address. The layout is similar to the app and has the same functionality and simplicity of design.
Once a book is completed, you have the option of downloading it as an ePub or publishing it online via a private link or embed code. There’s also an ‘unpublish’ button, should you wish to use it. In the full version, an added security layer is promised which will prevent students from publishing their work directly to the web. Publishing work will only be possible via a teacher’s account and the books published will not be publicly searchable on Google.
There are a few things still not clear:
- How will students access the online app?
- Will it be possible to access books across platforms?
- How much will it cost? Book creator has not announced pricing at the moment, but teachers will be able to publish ten books for free.
Due to the potential of this tool the online beta version is definitely worth a look. It is a fantastic tool for creating and recording learning. Give it a go and let us know. We’d love to hear your thoughts.
