The week in brief…an early start

It was a very early start this Monday as the whole team made their way to the Southbank for the final celebration of the ReflectED research project in partnership with Rosendale Primary and the National Education Trust. The action packed day saw pupils, teachers and headteachers from 28 schools from across the country gathering together for a day of workshops, sharing sessions and celebrations.

Tuesday saw Joe travelling to the BBC for the press launch of the Micro:bit, the new wearable piece of programmable technology which will be making it’s way to every year 7 child in September. The CLC are delighted to be partners – look out for our resources, family maker days and creative projects. Meanwhile Suki led the Family Learning Network meeting, discussing updates in policy and learning about Barclay’s Code Playground and Father Nature.

Wednesday saw the team get down to some serious workshop planning for next academic year, lots of exciting new projects to get involved in. Check out our brochure for our current offer or talk to us if you have an idea and we’ll see if we can make it happen!

On Thursday Marie and Caitlin were at Henry Cavendish Primary helping the families on the Digital Books course put the finishing touches to their publications. While Joe took the 3D printer on the road to show the children in Henry Cavendish how it works.

This morning we were at Streatham Wells designing games with year 2 and Rowan wraps up the week by presenting at the CAS Regional Meeting, explaining how the CLC can help your school become part of a network.
